Add Illinois. Sounds like one of the last in. Thought their L to Northwestern yesterday might have doomed them. Did not. B1G: 7 SEC: 6 PAC: 6

Curiously, every team in this subregional had a common opponent this season: Rutgers!
PSU - W, 3-0; W, 3-0 Princeton - L, 1-3 Towson - L, 1-3 American - W, 3-0

Towson has a strong record this year. And former PSU player Megan Shifflett who, her bio says, "helped led [sic] Penn State to three-straight NCAA Division I National Championships (2008, 2009, 2010). She played in 88 matches during her career as a defensive specialist..."

B1G: 7 SEC: 6 PAC: 6 I think they should have been doomed even before that loss. I know Cal didn't have a very good second half of the season, but they should have received a bid over Illinois.

Here we go LIONS here we go. My apologies to the Stillers for stealing their slogan. But here we go LIONS here we go. And before anyone points it out yes I know that's not the correct spelling of my favorite football team.

She spent a lot of time after graduation, coaching, playing and studying at universities in the UK. Her coaching there was with university men's teams.
I wonder if our UK board member ever crossed path with her.

We are only having this discussion cause commitee has to fill so many spots when In reality do u think either team still deserves to be playing with mediocre seasons at best. What’s the solution? Play in games like basketball. Even with that there’s still gonna be arguments for who makes play in games and on and on it goes.

NCAA basketball is a revenue generating machine with huge tv rights. Women’s volleyball unfortunately is not so would never take air time for a play-in game,

In my opinion both are teams that are gonna get beat up on early. So I doesn’t really matter which got in

In my opinion both are teams that are gonna get beat up on early. So I doesn’t really matter which got in Not sure I agree. (Here I go, disagreeing with you again ) From what I've seen of ILL, I think that they can come up with a good match or two. It wouldn't surprise me if they beat Utah, possibly even BYU. Will they? Who knows what ILL team will show up? But, I do get your point. Both of these teams would most likely be knocked out pretty early. Sort of like the opinions that PSU is favored by having weak sisters in their sub-regional. Granted, this year maybe more so; but there is a reason they seed. It's to make sure the best teams make it thru and don't play each other too early. (Tho I'm not sure the committee has figured that out). But in the majority of years if not all, PSU would easily beat whoever was sent to PSU. I remember the year that Utah was in the PSU sub-regional. All the nay-sayers were saying, "Now PSU has a tough team." So what happened. PSU beat them 3-0. trojansc and bluepenguin from Volleytalk think that there were other stronger options that could be sent to PSU; and since they weren't, it favored PSU. Not sure who they were talking about.

Rutgers, the absolutely worst team in the B1G, beating the winners of two other conferences. Interesting factoid.

Personally for me I want a good showing but I’m more interested in what happens in offseason
