Kaitlyn Hord Second In NCAA In Hitting Percentage

I knew Kaitlyn Hord had the Big Ten’s best hitting percentage (.445) heading into NCAA regionals this weekend, but I didn’t know she was second in the nation behind only Western Kentucky’s Lauren Matthews (.448). Louisville upset the No. 15 seed Hilltoppers in the round of 32, so Hord could potentially overtake Matthews with a strong performance against Cincinnati tonight in Palo Alto. It’s looking more and more likely that Hord will be named a first team All-American after earning AVCA honorable mention as a freshman last season.
