It's a new year, so let's review what DigNittanyVolleyball Forum and its sister site, DigNittanyVolleyball.com are, and what the rules are for using them.
First, the DigNittanyVolleyball Forum and DigNittanyVolleyball.com are independent, fan-supported sites that are completely unaffiliated with Penn State University, the Penn State Women's Volleyball team, and the Penn State Women's Volleyball Booster Club. We don't charge any fees, and don't receive any income at all from the sites -- only donations from our fundraisers. All of the donations go to support the operating expenses of the sites (hosting fees, tech support, and similar fees), and none go to the staff of the sites.
We are run by unpaid volunteers who commit significant amounts of time and energy to maintain a fan-friendly environment for users. Obviously, we aren't perfect, and we appreciate hearing from you when you think we are falling short of your expectations.
As a reminder, use of these sites is governed by our Terms of Use and Privacy Policies (see the links below):

Among the main points of the Terms of Use are rules and guidance for how to behave and certain things not to do. Some of these cover not violating the intellectual property rights of 3d parties, and others apply more generally to board decorum. On IP rights, we take this seriously, and if you think anything on this forum is violating the rights of others, let us know. For example, we assume that YouTube videos of matches from authorized YouTube accounts are OK, but if you know something shouldn't be posted here, please send us a private message. There aren't enough hours in the day for us to check everything by ourselves.
As to board decorum, the following is a concise statement of global principles on how to behave, which I've copied (with permission) from PennStateHoops.com, a site that is run by a friend of mine, tjb (who helped set up this Forum):
"Rule No. 1, also known as “THE TAVERN RULE”
Do not post anything here that you would not say to a player’s or coach’s mother’s face in The Tavern.
This rule presumes that if you find yourself in this hypothetical situation in The Tavern, you are
*Not intoxicated
*A reasonably well-mannered person
If you abide by this simple rule, the rest is superfluous.
Some “magic words” and hot-button topics
There are some key words and phrases that will almost surely get your post deleted, and if repeated, have your posting privileges limited or removed entirely. These are the Big Two Obvious Ones:
* Using the phrase “wasted scholarship” when referring to a player.
*Calling for the coach to be fired, or listing specific coaches as replacement candidates.
The first is just an obvious violation of The Tavern Rule.
The second is just a pet peeve.
Losing your job is awful no matter how well compensated you are. Having someone call for it is painful. It just bothers me.
Happily, there are other places (i.e., every other sports forum and news comment site in the world) where you can get this off your chest, and where your essential human right to express anything you darn well feel like expressing, no matter how ill-informed, vacuous or mean spirited, is protected."
