Wow! The article gives many reasons for Emily to consider entering the transfer portal!
I hope she doesn't. But, I would not blame her if she did.

Thanks, Ethan, Good article, Emily is at a disadvantage with Gabby in front of her, meaning if she stays she probably will only start one season.

Thanks Ethan for keeping the VB fires burning in the off season.
The comment about Weiskircher/Dittering 6-2 was quite interesting. I always assumed that he employed the 6-2 that year because we lacked an effective OPP to start the season, and their skill levels were pretty close. I would presume that if Coach felt that having Emily on the floor because of her hitting, defense or other skills, would enhance the prospects for winning, Coach would just take some aspirin and modify the system and rotation accordingly.

Also, there are a lot of interesting articles/blogs by Terry Petit on his website. (terrypetit.com). Lots of interesting reading for those interested in volleyball.

that's why I distrust coaches who in the past seemed to think it was the best thing. Coach has used it when he saw it as an opportunity. IIRC, Detering was a lefty -- you can scout that but hard to practice against it and prep for a righty and lefty at S in the same match. Discretion and discernment...and stats...a good thing.
