Worst analogy I can remember out of the mouth of a play-by-play guy. Referring to the frame-by-frame replay of a possible touch by the Flyers, "It's like watching the Zapruder film." Too soon. May forever be too soon.

Minn up 13-11 over Georgia Tech. Could be a close match. Georgia Tech has this Brazilian hitter who is awesome. Really good. I've wondered about Minn under Hugh McCutcheon. For whatever reason, they don't seem to show up in big matches. They've lost against teams that they should beat. We'll see what happens here.

Curious as to how good KY is. Course, trying to figure out how good anyone is can be a neat trick. Has the team been off cuz of Covid a lot? Have their best players been out? Has the team been able to practice regularly?
That's why the winner of this tournament is a phishtrix shoot. Look at Rice being knocked out by Covid. Really too bad.

Texas up 1 set 1-0 over Wright State. Wisc also won set 1 over Weber State. KY up 14-11 over UNLV in 1st set. Minn up 3-2 over GA Tech after winning 1st set.

I'm watching some of the Texas match. They look pretty impressive. Their passing is definitely better than previous years. I think with tough serving and good floor defense Penn State has a chance to beat them. It won't be easy but I trust Russ to come up with the best possible strategy.

Yeah, Elliott seems to have finally figured out that one should recruit back row players. I've never figured out his mindset. They ALWAYS have great hitters. BUT, their achilles heel has been defense and back row skill. Just our luck that they improve in the year that PSU plays them early.  Oh well. Like you say, Russ seems to always come up with a strategy that gives PSU a chance to win. We have a chance. Course, as Russ would say, gotta win the next match first.
I almost get the impression that someone didn't want PSU to get very far. (cough cough Mark E.) They will have to play Texas, then Nebraska and then Wisc, JUST to get to the finals. Really???
