I did the same search and found the same articles. What I did not find was any data on any players. Somehow some of the posters on Volleytalk were quoting some numbers. No one indicated a source for those numbers.

No one indicated a source for those numbers. I think most of those VT posters are coaches, or former coaches, or people who are close to coaches, who have access to VolleyMetrics or similar sports analytics. tools. So they get them from those sources. I'm sure the Penn State staff has those statistics (and much more) on the Penn State players. So that's where those stats (which may, or may not, be accurate) come from. They aren't publicly available.

Watching the B1G this year, I sensed that even under some tough serving there were more 2s and 3s and less setter scrambling than I was used to. I wonder if data would confirm that. I had a boss you posted a sign in the office: Without Data, You're Just Another Opinion.

Then you're Micha Hancock

Re: Molly Hagerty, which I think I lost the thread of here...She had already redshirted a year, unexpectedly with back problems, in what would have been her 2017 sophomore year. Her 2016 year included roughly 10 different honors, including an ESPN and AVCA player of the week notes. She had the capacity, like a Megan Courtney, to rise to the occasion and terminate from roughly anywhere on the court. Don't know if this decision is about hanging it up or just not into grad school. We shall see.
