It is with great sadness that I report the passing of the very witty and kind poster with the screen name gnu2vball. I'm late with this notice because I just learned of it through an online search. The obituary read that he "reposed peacefully at home surrounded by family early Wednesday morning, June 3, 2020. He fought a heroic battle against Mesothelioma." He was born July 7, 1952, in Allentown, PA. I considered gnu2vball a friend, and spoke with him on a few occasions after his treatment began. He was a good and kind man, and will be missed. The photo below was his profile picture. The story is that he won some kind of contest that allowed him to throw out the first pitch at a game of the Colorado Rockies. If I remember correctly (and assuming he wasn't totally pulling my leg -- always a possibility) the photo actually was from that event, and his name appeared on the scoreboard. But to preserve internet anonymity (and because he was gnu2vball), gnu2vball photoshopped in his profile name.

Gnu2vball, rest in peace, my friend, I am sorry to read this, you are too young for this to happen, Which is why we should cherish every moment we have and not take life for granted.
