A section that is left out: In a surprisingly candid moment, Cook admits he wishes Russ Rose had retired in 2006. Says he offered to help Russ find a nice place to retire. But no go. Cook also admits that his favorite food, any season, any holiday, appetizer, main course or dessert, is mints. Grumpy comment of the day: I don't know why dignittany has to become an outlet for the adoration of this coach, who in my view is, well I won't say here. But. Triggered. Tired of him. Seriously. Isn't there a NE fan site where people who want this can go? Or Volleytalk?

Cook is referencing that Penn State went on that amazing 2007-2014 run under Russ. |

Purdue scores 8 of the last 10 points to come from down 14-10 to win 18-16 in the fifth over BYU.
Minnesota scores the last 5 in a row to defeat Baylor 15-10 in the fifth.
Wisconsin in a breeze over UCLA.
Ohio State out in straight sets to Georgia Tech.
Nebraska easily ousts Illinois.
So 4 of the final 8 out of the B1G. At least one Big Ten team will be in the final four as Minnesota plays Nebraska. (Go Gophers!)
Top 3 seeds still in it as Texas survives scare from Washington.
Certainly not as much fun watching the playoffs with the Lions out. But, the Purdue and Minnesota matches were super! |
