Very nice interview. Was this another one on one or were other reporters present? Thanks! It was just me again today. The students on the beat have class during availability this season, so I’m typically the only one there.

The digs stats were indeed remarkable at PU: Hampton 26; Blossom 20; Starck 15. Also, looking at the stat sheet: Newton 63 swings. !! Not sure if Samedy has had that many. Wow. Starck had 41 (and I thought that was impressive until I looked at the Boilers'). I'm pretty sure that Samedy has had 70 or more at least once this year. Miss Bionic Arm!! To me, even more impressive about Newton was that she hit .333 when having 63 swings. If I remember correctly, Samedy's average was something like .246. BIG difference. That Newton could hit .333 with that many swings is amazing.

I'm impressed with the questions you ask (not just in this press conference, but in previous ones also). You obviously put some thought into what to ask coach. Thanks for the effort! It makes for an interesting press conference!

It makes for an interesting press conference! If our man Ethan is the only reporter present, I guess it must be a bit more like an interview. Since Ethan has mostly been handling these solo (like a pool reporter!) there must be additional pressure to be ready with a series of good questions though. I am a bit surprised that the school paper has not designated someone to attend these availabilities.

Couple thoughts about the weekend. First, I thought we would come away winless because the homecourt advantage would be just too much.
A MN sweep is pretty much only for the elite: This year: WI, PSU. 2020/1: NE. 2019: FLSt, TX, WI, Stan IIRC.
And this year, WI has been pushed to 5 only twice.
Can't help but expect we earned heaps more respect as we exited the upper Midwest.

The ladies demonstrated that they can beat the best teams. I am hoping that they will move forward with confidence and more self belief.

RPI experts: Did our loss to WI give us cred for going to 5 sets v being swept? OR is an L just an L (with points to an L to a top-rated team)?

RPI experts: Did our loss to WI give us cred for going to 5 sets v being swept? OR is an L just an L (with points to an L to a top-rated team)? I believe a loss is a loss is a loss and a win is a win is a win -- regardless of number of sets involved, and regardless of Home or Away (there are other ratings that take those things into account, such as the Pablo system, mentioned frequently on the other site whose name shall not be uttered). Here's a summary of RPI calculation from The Daily Nebraskan in 2019: Wikipedia includes a critique of RPI:
