Sure seems like a 6-2 now. I would think that if passing was iffy that a 6-2 would be contra-indicated. Guess passing much be okay now. I was wondering if Russ would go to a 6-2 this year with all the hitters. Course there is Terry Pettit's comment on the 6-2. "The setter in a 6-2 has the same leadership capability as the pusher in a two man bobsled." Love that quote.

I think this team, with all of the seniors, will have quite a bit of resiliency. They won't give up. Nice to see such a good 3rd set.

IIRC Oerther is way taller than Blossom; Blossom gets some good blocking in but can Oerther do even better?

Pritchard ace -- I remember her from her matches against Penn State, and in my (traumatized) memory, she always had a gazillion aces and points and blocks against us. My memory may have exaggerated her effectiveness against PSU a tad.  |
