Aiyana registered .556 hitting percentage, 22 kills, and 11 blocks She is playing really well. So smooth. Blocking is also very improved -- 1.1 blocks/set in B1G matches.

Agree with psufanboy. Aiyana rocked the Buckeyes! Sadly, it seems NPW stats are somewhat arbitrary. Hope the BIG takes notice and rewards her accordingly. Given the competition, she certainly is deserving of the consideration. I always feel the BIG Player of the Week is as much of an honor as the NPW.

Don't they know the highest point in the lower 49 states is ... wait for it ... Mt. Whitney?
Karch couldn't say enough times how high she contacts the ball (that's one of his go-to insider things that you hear repeated in his broadcasts). Those numbers are also above the treeline...

There was a thread on Volleytalk early in the week about which team has the best pair of middles. I think Washington and Whitney (in alphabetical order) are pretty special. Nevertheless, I still love seeing Aiyanna flying in from the pin--reminds me of A. Scott.

See our post-match write-up on DigNittany for his comment about moving Aiyana to a pin if Thelen plays well.
