It looks like Russ may be settling into a lineup for the B1G season that will look much like the WVU match lineup. The only major change is a Kudrashova/Kuerchen duo in place of Pritchard. That may vary during the season, but the rest of the lineup seems set. So, as the Big Ten season is about to begin, how is the team doing with each rotation? Let’s start with the weakest one. That would be ro2, the rotation that finds Gabby in zone 2 (right front). The front row is Blossom, Kudryashova or Pritchard, and Hord. The back row is Holland/Hampton, Rollins, and Parker. For the season this is the only rotation that has lost more points than it has won. Their overall record is 101-118 for a 46.1% winning percentage. They are the weakest serving rotation at 30-62 (32.6%) and the weakest receiving rotation at 71-56 (55.9%).
The rest of the rotations are relatively balanced. The most interesting is ro 1 with Gabby serving. This rotation has a front row of Kudryashova/Pritchard, Hord, and Parker and a back row of Blossom, Hampton, and Rollins. They are the best serving rotation at 84-83 for 50.3%, but the second worst receiving rotation at 86-54 for a 61.4% side out percentage.
Our best overall scoring rotation is ro 6 (front – Hord, Parker, Rollins; back – Pritchard/Kuerschen, Blossom, Hampton). The server here is usually Pritchard or Kuerschen. They are the best receiving rotation at 78-25 (75.7%) and have an overall record of 147-105 (58.3&).
Ro 3 with Adanna Rollins serving is our second best overall at 127-94 for 57.5%. This is a very strong serving rotation at 64-64.
Ro 4 with Jonni Parker in the serving position checks in at 116-90 for a 56.3 winning percentage. They are a strong side out rotation at a 72.7% rate.
The second weakest rotation is ro 5 with Jenna Hampton in the serving spot. Their record is 120-108 (52.6%).
I’ll do a second post to look at individual serving records.

So here are the major servers on the team ranked by the winning percentage when they serve. It is recognized that the effectiveness shown for each is a combination of their serving prowess and the effectiveness of the rotation for which they serve.
Rollins 57-53 for 51.8%
Blossom 83-82 for 50.3%
Kuerschen 34-37 for 47.9%
Pritchard 37-45 for 45.1%
Parker 42-53 for 44.2%
Hampton 48-68 for 41.4%
Holland 25-51 for 32.9%
The overall team result is 345-428 for 44.6%.
The remaining defensive specialists aside from Cassie combine for a 14-28 record.

Didn't have a chance to see the match until 20-20 in the 3rd. But noted that the last ~4 points were scored in what your analysis showed as our weakest rotation with Holland serving. No idea how this one did in the rest of the match, but interesting finish. Holland had ice in her veins serving it out like that IMHO!

Indeed Ro 2 came through not only in set 3 but also is set 2 when with PSU trailing 24-23 they scored a point on Allie's serve and then, equally importantly, got the side out on Londot's serve enabling PSU to win when they scored on Gabby's serve. For the match Ro 2 was 18-13 overall and 10-8 on Allie's serve.
The team also scored well on Gabby's serve (8-6) and Jenna's serve (7-6). Those two rotations were 14-8 and 13-9 overall respectively.
Struggles came on Ro 3 with Adanna (subbed by Maddy once) going 2-9 when serving and 11-16 overall.
Ro 6 with mostly Cassie serving went 3-6, but sided out at 100% for a 9-6 overall record.
Finally, the team went 3-8 on Jonni's serve and that rotation was 12-13 overall.
Hopefully all those numbers add up to 33-43 serving and 44-22 receiving for a total of 77-65.

The following represents the data for the first half of the Big Ten season.
Despite its disastrous performance this weekend, Ro 1 continues to be the best performing rotation. They are 96-92 (51.1%) when serving and 97-43 (69.3%) when receiving for an overall record of 193-135 (58.8%). All three percentages are team leading. Ro 6 usually had Erika Pritchard in the serving position until she was injured. When Angelina Starck moved into the starting lineup there was a shift that moved Adanna Rollins into the Ro 6 serving spot with Angelina in that spot for Ro 3. Erika’s return for the Wisconsin match restored the original order. In the ten Big Ten matches Ro 6 has been the second best on the team with a 169-144 (54.0%) record. The rotation is also second in both serving and receiving records, serving at 76-94 (44.7%) and siding out at 93-50 (65.0%). Coming in at third best is Ro 5 with Jenna Hampton serving. Their numbers are: overall 161-142 (53.1%), serving 71-89 (44.4%), and siding out 90-53 (62.9%). Ro 2 (Allie Holland serving), which had been the weakest rotation in the preseason, is the only other rotation with a winning overall record. Their numbers are: overall 137-130 (51.3%), serving 54-79 (40.6%), and siding out 83-51 (61.9%). Ro 4 (Jonni Parker serving) is one of the two rotations with a losing (slightly) record. Their numbers are: 138-141 (49.5%), serving 53-89 (37.3%), and siding out 85-52 (62.0%). Ro 3 (Rollins/Starck serving) checks in with numbers similar to Ro 4. Their numbers are: overall 131-135 (49.2%), serving 49-82 (37.4%), and siding out 82-53 (60.7%).
Team numbers for the Big Ten season so far are: overall 929-827 (52.9%), serving 399-525 (43.2%), and siding out 530-302 (63.7%). Given the serving rotation order the team would appear to be stronger in the consecutive sequence of Blossom, Pritchard, Hampton and weaker in the following sequence of Parker, Rollins, Holland. Accumulating the data in those sequences we get Blossom-Pritchard-Hampton 523-421 (55.4%) and Parker-Rollins-Holland 406-406 (50.0%).
