this link to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette article on Rockwell mentions a successor to Rose.

Karch had a lot to say about why coach recruited Rockwell back to PSU in his coverage of the OSU I game, having to do with retirement.

Then the big unveiling on Friday of the super Rose and Rose locker room.

I am covering my ears, averting my eyes, trying to avoid the use of the R word...not Rose, not Rockwell, but that R thing that folks might eventually do when they reach a certain age.

I don't think we can comment on rumors or "what if" senarios. Until any official announcement is given, I'll reserve my opinion for now

I thought it was kind of a given that Rockwell was the preferred candidate to take over upon Rose's retirement when she returned from Texas. I have no idea when that might be, but I'd bet Rose and Rockwell have had discussions.

Let's face it, it's unrealistic to assume that Rose wants to coach for another 10 years. I can't imagine a better replacement than Rockwell.

Can any of you?

When there is a transition, I'd imagine it will be conducted properly, and the players needs and feelings will be considered in an appropriate way.

Agreed. I can't see him leaving until after his sophomore class has graduated. Also, I'm sure Salima will still have access to him as a resource and tap his brain from time to time, if she takes over.

I'm hoping he's actively coaching for six NCAA tournament matches this December, and I can't think beyond that.
