Well, David, I understand your perspective, but you have to realize the hatred for Nebraska that, well I won't speak for every Penn State fan, but a majority of us "HATE THEM" I'm sure you have teams you despise on your side of the pond and can relate. Of course I understand about rivalries with other teams that can spill over into hatred, but why Lexi Sun in particular? She has been a key player for a long time and now appears to have been frozen out. I'm curious as to why this is. Did she commit some sort of misdemeanour in the Nebraskan volleyball community? Unfortunately, I'm not privy to that information, but if I had to guess I would say Coach Cook plays the best players available to him regardless of how well a player has done in the past, another factor, my memory is a little fuzzy on this one, but I do believe when she was transferring or a freshman, she chooses Nebraska over PSU, like I said my memory is not clear on that, of all the things I've lost in my life I miss my mind the most.

A few random thoughts on the Nebraska-Texas match (I'm uncertain what thread this fits with): 1. Is there any Penn State starter who would start for Nebraska? 2. Is Salima considered a good announcer? To me, she sounds more like a giggly fan. She clearly must be very knowlegable about the game, but she never seems to have any illuminating or even explanatory commentary. Most of what she says is of the "Wow, that was great" variety. 3. The only thing I enjoyed about the game was seeing Lexi Sun relegated to the sideline. That's harsh, goldengoal, what you say about Lexi Sun - what has she done to deserve that? I've always enjoyed watching her play but did wonder why she had been benched. I'm afraid life has made me harsh. But as Henry Ford 2d said when he fired Lee Iacocca, "Sometimes you just don't like somebody."

Well, Lexi did transfer to Nebraska back when transferring was more difficult. Was she originally at Penn State then? If so, it all makes sense

No. She was at Texas and I think may have been an All-American or honorable mention AA that year. It was known that she wanted to transfer and some hoped she would choose Penn State. But, horror of horrors, she chose the cornfields instead. We were not happy!

I realize there are Covid restrictions, but Nebraska--class to the end--leaves the court without congratulating, waving at, or acknowledging Wisconsin.

Well, I guess I got to walk on nails, I can't believe I'm this happy for Wisconsin but they did it they slew the dragon, anyone that prevents Nebraska from winning anything is a hero in my book. Congratulations to Wisconsin. I am glad I did not have to suffer that smug look on Cooks's face if they would have won. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh another loss for the demons.

Yeah, I get disappointment, but that's not a good look for the Huskers. But not surprising, really. Especially, I suppose, when compared with the way some of the Louisville players congratulated Wisconsin after their semi-final. Anna Stevenson, I think, went under the net to personally congratulate Dana Retke. I think other Louisville players followed her also. Hope they weren't reprimanded for this, although I acknowledge they shouldn't really have done it. I know it's not what a Penn State fan should say, but I've become a bit of a Louisville fan during this season; having good access to ACC matches via the ESPN Player in England. Is it allowed in the US to be a fan of two teams?

I'm a fan of two teams: Penn State (my alma mater) and Stanford (my son dated a player). When I first came to this message board I was told how superior Penn State and B1G are to Stanford and PAC-12. Both true and both I acknowledge but I felt it was emphasized a little too much here . I have never commented about any of Stanford's accomplishments on this board because it's not the place for that.

I think you have been really quite thoughtful and nuanced in all your commentary (or at least all I can think of). I think pretty highly of Stanford too -- mostly due to John Dunning. So I don't know if that opinion will last over time.
