So now we know.....assuming we get past Towson, it will be Pittsburgh in the 2nd round on Sunday. That one's a 12 midnight start for me in England, but just got to watch it live!!
Elsewhere on the forum, ACC's Louisville have been suggested as Championship favourites due to their 28-0 record. I've been able to watch most of Louisville's matches on ESPN in England and they have been very impressive, although many of their ACC matches have been against much weaker opposition. Only Pittsburgh, Miami and Georgia Tech provided serious opposition. Looking at their quarter of the draw, I think their first real test will come in the 3rd round where Ohio State will probably be waiting. If they win that convincingly, then yes, they could be serious contenders.
It's going to be a great tournament with several teams in with a real shout.

Bad news for me....looks like the 1st and 2nd round matches will only be shown on ESPN+ which is not available in England. I've emailed ESPN to plead with them but I'm not expecting anything other than 'sorry, but......'

I have Express VPN but all that allows me to do is access ESPN+ and create an account but when I try to subscribe I have to supply address and payment details and that is when it picks up that I'm non-American and it pops up an error message. Although I can't watch the live video, I have found the GoSportsPSU audio commentary, so at 12 midnight I'll be tucked up in bed listening to that! I've watched Pitt a few times this season in the SEC on the ESPN Player which I can get in Britain, and they're good but definitely beatable if the Lions are on their game.

A few random thoughts on the Nebraska-Texas match (I'm uncertain what thread this fits with):
1. Is there any Penn State starter who would start for Nebraska?
2. Is Salima considered a good announcer? To me, she sounds more like a giggly fan. She clearly must be very knowlegable about the game, but she never seems to have any illuminating or even explanatory commentary. Most of what she says is of the "Wow, that was great" variety.
3. The only thing I enjoyed about the game was seeing Lexi Sun relegated to the sideline.

In many of the B1G games she was in the booth for, Salima spoke about technical aspects of blocking and playing positions, why a hit was so good or so problematic. Found her to communicate really effectively, and felt I was learning every time I listened to her. I thought the producers at UTA were very bad at allowing us to hear Salima and Paul...they were constantly drowned out by crowd noise, so I ended up tuning them out. I expect that ESPN tells Salima what they want to hear from her...and what they don't. And while I don't even come close to agreeing with your assessment of her, I find her warm and infectious enthusiasm much better than the pomposity of some of the males that get the plum jobs in the booth covering women's sports.

I think Sunderland's volleyball play by play is brilliant and very honest, in the NCAA and, especially during the Tokyo Olympics. Presumably he and Salima will be calling the final four. If so, I'll listen with your perspective in mind and you do the same with mine.

I've always enjoyed watching her play but did wonder why she had been benched.

Well, David, I understand your perspective, but you have to realize the hatred for Nebraska that, well I won't speak for every Penn State fan, but a majority of us "HATE THEM" I'm sure you have teams you despise on your side of the pond and can relate.

Of course I understand about rivalries with other teams that can spill over into hatred, but why Lexi Sun in particular? She has been a key player for a long time and now appears to have been frozen out. I'm curious as to why this is. Did she commit some sort of misdemeanour in the Nebraskan volleyball community?

Well, Lexi did transfer to Nebraska back when transferring was more difficult.
