What a massive letdown. I wonder if there is any chance they get an at-large bid? I doubt it, unfortunately.

I think there's still a chance for the at-large. The results of the other conferences, specifically the Big West, would determine it.
If my understanding of bracketology is correct, our biggest competition for it is between LBSU and Hawaii. My bet is that if Hawaii loses in the Big West conference tournament we get a good chance for the at-large. If LBSU loses, it gets dicey but we do have a 1-0 h2h over them. If both loses, we have no chance to get there.
UCLA get the first at-large (I'd be really suprised if they didn't). No chance for USC to get it now.

Fingers crossed then, I suppose. But it shouldn't have to to this. I couldn't believe how they outblocked us.

I think Princeton's float serving was bothering our receivers alot (kinda like how Argentina messed up USA's rhythm in the Olympics). It was probably the most out of system the team looked and from there the taller team has the blocking advantage.

Small update.
Penn State retains its #2 ranking in the RPI index while UCLA goes down to #4. This currently doesn't assure us of an at-large but RPI is one of the factors committees take into consideration for the at-large.
Also, if you're a PSU MVB fan, stay away from the "other" forum. It's full of Hawaii and LBSU fans ragging on PSU cause it can potentially take away one of the at-larges from them.

It's full of Hawaii and LBSU fans ragging on PSU cause it can potentially take away one of the at-larges from them. I'm guessing that we need the following teams to win their conferences: Princeton (to help our RPI), Long Beach (so they don't need an at-large and since it helps our RPI), and Ball State (so they don't need at a-large)... And we need Hawaii to lose in semi's. Stinks that our MVB is in this situation... yesterday it seemed likely that we could get the #2 or possibly even the #1 seed. --- Here's a link to the current RPI: www.offtheblockblog.com/2022/04/postseason-upsets-cause-big-changes-to-rpi-rankings/

From their lips to God's ears. One thing is for sure. I'll have my eyes glued on my computer screen for the selection show on Sunday.

Conference winners so far.
Conf. Carolinas: North Greenville EIVA: Princeton MIVA: Ball State MPSF: Pepperdine
So far the results have been in favor of Penn State or disfavors Hawaii/USC. But the most important one is yet to come.
Big West: Hawaii v Long Beach (7:30 HT, 1:30 am ET)

Penn State gets snubbed for the at-large. Which means our season is over.
NCAA having 7 slots for championships is stupid.

Assuming no surprises, next year's starting lineup is the same minus Bantle.
Do we expect Merk as libero?
