Great team effort!!! This team puts up and huge block and stays calm. Love how the announcers kept saying Kash Money!! Love that kid and this team!

Not a big fan of rankings, but both of these teams are under ranked. We beat a very solid, big, and talented Stanford team. Love it!!

Very pleased with the win. Even would have been content with a five set loss. Just the fact that the team could hang with Stanford would have been encouraging. This raises expectations a bit.
I was very unhappy with the announcers during the last point. They didn't seem to recognize that there was a challenge on the play. Finally, they never showed where the four hits occurred! BTW it happened on the initial serve receive when the hitter hit into the net rather than the block.
Now there is a little pressure on the women to follow up with a good match against Oregon!

How does the ranking points system work. If we win this 3-0, how many points does that get us? Or is it more complicated than that? I didn't see a reply to you, so I figured I would take a stab at it. There is no objective point system per se except for the subjective opinion of the voters in the ranking polls. So, a 3-2 win should be just as good as a 3-0 win, but voters can choose their own criteria when ranking teams. Some voters could place more importance on "style points" than other voters and rank accordingly, but there is no science or system to it. I think this win is going to give Coach KSC some additional "street cred" when she sits down to talk with recruits. Hopefully, it is just the first of many big wins for this team and this coach. I am excited! |

dc155: beautiful pick! I only saw set1 before I had to leave the house. But set1 was the best set I've seen PSU play in years. Every time the margin shrank, they built it up again. Stanford had no answer and PSU was winning points more than Stan losing them. Never seen Starck play so well, doing everything we had hoped for her/from her. Williams: ka-ching! $$! Zoe! the Middles. The smart setter dumps. Wow.
