Down 0-2 to St. Francis.
Seems like after last weekend's wins over USC and UCLA, the team didn't think they'd need to get ready for a 2-7 team.

PSU takes the 5th! Survives an upset scare 3-2.
John Kerr the difference maker with 15 kills after getting subbed in during the 3rd set.

Hoping this was their down game of the season.
The start reminded me very much of PSU v Princeton in the EIVA semis. The guys were flat most of the game. The 19 SEs didn’t help that. Brett and Cal seem to still be feeling the lingering effects of their respective injuries. Valenzi took over for Kowal latter in the set. Kowal was tipping a lot and was getting stuffed. The connection of Cole Bogner and Toby Ezeonu is pretty strong still. Sam Marsh also took the court today as well. He did pretty well from the service line getting 3 aces. Kerr coming in clutch in the 3rd set through to the 5th set. Passing I think is one of the teams biggest strengths our passing line of Wildman, Merk and Valenzi/Kowal is really good.

In today's "Penn State Coaches Show", Coach Pavlik shared that Sam and Brett both had ankle injuries. (No mention of what Cal's injury was.)
When asked if the players are the same since they left the lineup, Coach Pavlik shared yes for Cal but that Brett's post-injury is still "testing" him as this is his first time coming back from an injury.

With UCLA and USC joining the Big Ten, Coach Pavlik was asked if he's talked with their men's volleyball programs about how they feel about their Big Ten connections. He said there's been "many discussions" and that getting a Big Ten Men's Volleyball league started will be "the best thing that could happen for collegiate men's volleyball".
He continued by saying that if they can get a Big Ten Men's Volleyball league started, it could do for the men's game as it's done for the women's. The league would have Penn State, Ohio State, UCLA, and USC, and they could then see who else would want to join.
(He also mentioned Stanford. Maybe he misspoke, or perhaps they're part of the conversation.)
