AHHHHH!!! Was screaming my head off this whole game WOWWW amazing play all around. And as someone who was pretty critical of the pins this season they showed OUT tonight! Man I love this team. Like coach said great teams get better in November I think we are seeing that from this group. We freakin’ ARE !!

There were times when the serve-receive wasn't too good, but it improved in the last 2 sets. A lot of good digs that Leisa was able to do something with. PUR was up in digs in the first set, but PSU ended up winning both the kill battle (60-51), and the dig battle (66-60).

Well, I'm worn out. Was tense the entire match. Was hoping for a win but not expecting one.

That 3rd set was the key. After that some of the spirit went out of PUR. Eva H. reminds me of Kathleen Plummer. She can bomb the ball from anywhere. Can't imagine what she'll be like in 3 more years.
P.S. I was afraid of Eva H. because the close matches that PSU has lost have been because the other team had hammers that could be depended on to put the ball down.

Whereas this team isn't as good as the PSU glory year teams, one thing they've been doing recently is when a team loads up on one hitter, the others come thru. That's been happening in the last 3-4 matches with Kash; in this game is happened when PUR defense was loading up on Allie. Really nice to see.

Penn State volleyball (21-6, 10-6 Big Ten) has now won double-digit conference matches in 31 of 32 seasons since joining the Big Ten.

Was just watching Emily Ehman's prediction of the PSU vs PUR match, (I know, a little late), and she said that PSU needed to limit Eva H. Well,PSU did. Hudson went 13-5-53 for a .151 hitting percentage. That's pretty good. That means that PSU got a LOT of her attack up and returned. Pretty impressive for a hitter that been doing so good. Good coaching, good defense.
P.S. Emily also said that PUR had to limit the PSU middles, which they sorta did; Katie was 9-2-16 hitting .438, which is pretty good; BUT Allie was only 3-1-20 for .100. BUT, Kash came thru in a big way and was 22-6-42 for a .381 hitting percentage. So the difference was that PSU had someone else come thru for them while PUR didn't. (PUR had 1 hitter over .300 with 9 attempts). This all shows up in the team hitting with PSU hitting .245 and PUR hitting.196. As others have said, a really good defensive effort by PSU.

So,not counting the MINN and WISC matches, PSU needs to win 1 of the two "winnable" matches left; Northwestern away and Purdue at home. The NW match may not be that hard, as unfortunately NW's second string setter is out with a head injury (hope she will be okay; from what I heard, it could be pretty bad). This is after their first string setter went out something like a month ago. Really bad luck for a team that when healthy has looked pretty good. So the NW hitters are adjusting to their 3rd setter during the season. Wow. Pretty grim.
I'm not saying the PSU can't beat MINN or WISC, just that it's unlikely. They, like NEB, are always up for PSU.
