Georgia Tech is a good team. GT libero is good.
Podraza shows disappointment on her face when things don't go well. Blocking good at times and not so good at times.

Well, it's never as bad as it looks in a loss. But, it is clear that this is not a final 4 team. They remind me a great deal of last year's version and I have the same expectation as I did for that team. I would say somewhere in the 5-8 range in the B1G, 8-10 losses for the year, and a likely sweet sixteen appearance.

Is this the year it happens. No NCAA tournament birth ? This team has enough talent and experience, and I believe they will make the tournament. More time together and they will look like a different team. |

I know a lot has changed in the game with time. But a Russ Rose coaches team does not look like this. Even a team with half the talent on paper. Well, in 2021, PSU lost all of its ranked match-ups (including GT) in the non-conference schedule with a senior-laden, top recruiting class team that had played together for years. The schedule this year was perhaps a strategic miscalculation by the staff with so many new pieces (particularly at setter). Last year they eased into things and built some confidence. That said, they learned a lot and have now likely reset their expectations a bit. It's time to work. KSC/staff proved they could do it last year, so we know they can. It's up to this group of players now. Mac isn't new to this situation either, if you recall OSU with sky-high expectations had a grueling non-con schedule last year and started 0-3. They did just fine. Deep breaths, everyone. |

Meta question here. What does it say that Coach K sent an assistant at a (insert sad adjective) historic moment like this? Don't recall her relinquishing the position before.
Could be she wanted the moment with the players. Could be she had already decided to share these moments w/the assistants this year. But all things considered, not a Coach Rose type move.
