Another thought: I couldn't help but think it would be better to have had Maddy in the jersey and if she failed, then give it back to anybody they choose. But we have not lost w/Maddy in the jersey.

Agreed. Serve receive from the same two -three players is for sure worse. Stark played a lot of serve receive last year and not this year. I thought this was good thing, as I believe she was forced to play that role last year but wow something has happened and it is not good. Yeah, and at least Starck was a potential back row attacker that worked well sometimes last year. has she regressed, or is she being saved as backup elsewhere that would prevent this option? I dunno. Just a mess all around. |

Middle of the pack in the big 10. Round of 32 or 16 in the NCAA and sail off into the sunset ?

What's sad is that the match wasn't this close. Good pt by announcers; PSU kept LOU offence down, but PSU couldn't put the ball on the floor at all. Poor passing is an understatement — tons of free balls. Louisville also up played better defense. That team has grit. That team doesn’t smile after a ball hits the floor with two players staring at each other. That team plays likes PSU team of old. How and what PSU volleyball used to be. To be fair, I thought that the LOU serving was really good. They were putting PSU receiver in bad positions all night. Plus, LOU was able to do the hard spin serve without having very many serve errs. PSU did seem to do better on serve receive as the match went on; I think? I get the impression that there is a crisis in confidence on this team. And there isn't the "great" player on the team that can give people a shot and say, Get Better. |

What's interesting to me isn't Mac's talent but her grit. Over the last 15-16 years, we've had times when other teams have had our number, but I can't think of a time we've pulled our setter. Can't think of a time our setter hasn't just dug down and persisted. Yes. Agreed 100%. Going through the motions. No other way to put it. Smiles and laughs when something doesn’t go right. On multiple occasions. NO grit. No drive. NOT just her but seems to be a lot of this team. It's difficult to assess a player's motivation from their court demeanor. Every player has a different personality. Many high achieving players laugh when they make a mistake. It use to drive me crazy, particularly when a player missed a serve or shanked the ball in serve receive. I now believe after decades as a spectator there is no real correlation in women's vb about a player laughing at a mistake and how driven they are. |

Anyone else feel the coaching staff is not serving the amount of talent this team actually has ? Perhaps Louisville's #2 national ranking is accurate. Also I now think when I first heard two star players were transferring in to PSU, my expectations may have gotten unrealistically high. |

Has anyone heard anything at all about megan hodge ? I've heard nothing. There have been some former players who at middle age with a family decided coaching would be fun. Then when they found out it's hard work and not so much fun, they decided it wasn't their thing. This may not apply to Hodge. It could be anything. |
