Match Thread - PSU vs. UMBC: Fri. Sep 15, 2023 7 p.m. ET

Tho to be fair, Jess had 27 attacks, Markley had 26 attacks and Hannah had 21 attempts. Still, Jess doesn't need the work, others do.

My motto for the season- "It's not how you start, but how you finish." Thoughts about tonight.
- most fluid the team has looked all year.
- Camryn looked confident and dangerous. Loved seeing the connection between her and Mac. You can clearly see the confidence growing in these two:)
- Great to see more of Alexa and Angelina tonight. Markley's blocking is top notch and her energy is awesome. Stark is versatile and her presence keeps the Nittany Lions calm and balanced.
-Mac Prodaza was relaxed and fluid. She's a game changer.
- Jess Mruzik is Jess Mruzik- so explosive/strong and can't wait to see what she does in the BIG this year.
- Taylor and Allie put up a HUGE block and they read offenses well. I'm confident their offense and connection with setting will improve as the season progresses. It takes time.
- Littles are feisty, talented, and improved tremendously during the second half of the season last year. Looking forward to their growth and tenacity this season.

-Final thoughts. Pre-season and Pre-conference are challenging for every team. As fans we are quick to lash out when we don't see our favorite team playing up to how we think they should be playing. (Although many of those so called "fans" aren't fans; just haters trolling this site)

My guess is that the coaching staff has put this team through the "wringer" out of love and preparation for the BIG/post-season. The team looked rigid and out of sorts 3 weeks ago. Today they looked confident and fluid.
Looking forward to watching this team play hard, compete, and find ways to win this season.

I’m guessing Kuerschen and Hannah have taken over for those positions at least in this game. I am really glad to see Kuerschen getting the nod today. I feel like her defensive play dating back to the second half of last season is pretty outstanding with the amount of balls she can keep off the court. I definitely saw a switch in her game and she has been an unsung hero in my eyes.

But technically speaking I believe they used Starck in replace of Bilinovic in the back-row for this game. And I believe Hannah provides more versatile hitting on the right side

I'm still trying to wrap my head around what we are doing w/RS/Opp. 

First, after last weekend someone asked about whether we had backups for Opp and it turned out Markely and Hannah were the 2 others listed beyond Weatherington. 

So... What I THINK happened tonight was that Hannah was in instead of Weatherington. and we had no Opp2. Which ? meant that when setter was in the front row, we had Holland sorta MB sorta Opp?

I was watching on a small enough screen that I think I can use that as an excuse for having to ask...
