I’ve also really have liked the switch of having Grimes being the Libero while defending zone 6 instead of 5. I think her defense is stronger there compared to when she was defending zone 5. I agree with KSC saying she is needed on the court at all times, especially for passing. The team did seem a lot smoother and more composed throughout the game tonight and wonder if that had to do with having Starck back in defensively, who was also defending a different zone than usual. The depth of this team is definitely showing!

Granted, the team looked better. But how much of that is the lower level of the opposition? I'm withholding judgement until we play a better team, say Minn? The serve receive still needs to improve, as Mac was having to set from 8-10 feet from the net way too often. It's probably surprising that Zoe hasn't been replaced earlier as she's only had a couple of matches where she has clawed her way up to average. I'm really hoping that she and Mac will mesh better as Zoe was quite a hammer for the last quarter of last season. Not sure what the problem with her is, but whatever it is, I hope it's fixed soon.
Just relooked at the Louisville match. LOU only hit .186, so the defense of PSU was pretty good. It's the offense that really let PSU down, as only 2 PSU players hit over .000. Really? And one of those was Markley who only had 10 attacks.
Course, REALLY have to take the LOU serving/PSU receiving into account also. And that's a big difference btwn the UMBC match and the LOU match. UMBC serving wasn't that tough comparatively.
We'll see where the teams end up, but who expected Florida, Louisville to be 2,3 and Georgia Tech to be #10? Pretty tough schedule to start off with.
I still have confidence in the PSU coaches and we'll see where PSU is at the end of the year. Cuz that is what counts.

The losses we have had are looking better as they are top ranked team. The JMU win is also looking better as they took Oregon to 5. Still hoping this team can gel because on paper they are a possible final four team.
