Nice to see PSU show up in the 5th. Also, PSU significantly out blocked IND. Plus, PSU had 4 aces to IND 1 ace, and IND is leading the B1G with aces.

It was nice to see Maddy come in and do well. The team mobbed her after the ace of hers in the last set. It's got to have been tough on her to not have been playing much.
It reminds me of Kristen Carpenter in the 2011 season. After setting PSU to a championship in 2010, in 2011, she lost her setting job to Micha Hancock, then lost the libero job, lost the defensive specialist position. I don't know what the other job she lost, (may have been a serving specialist), but she said later, that she lost 4 jobs in that season. She said later how difficult is was for her.

Tension, what tension? Let's have a 3-0 against Ohio please; my nerves can't take another game like last night. By the time I'd calmed down it was 3am here in England! Big10 W/L 5-0 now, congrats KSC, staff and all the players. Starck, wow, what a night for her!

I found it very interesting that Indiana had such great shot charts on the starting hitters on Penn State. For a while I thought Penn State coaches were going to get out coached. But this great Penn State coaching staff recognized that they needed to put in players that Indiana had not prepared for. It worked beautifully! Good job coaches

Good job coaches It's a plus that this year we have some players to put in when someone isn't having a good nite. I'm still wondering what's with Zoe. Haven't heard hide nor hair from her since about 6-8 games ago. I'm of the opinion that she had some nagging injuries that she tried to play with and just couldn't. At least it's a theory. (I have no facts to base this on whatsoever). If Zoe could play like she played at the end of last year, she'd be a huge plus. Oh well. As RR used to say, "You play with who you have. No use complaining about who you don't have."

I forgot to mention Anjelina Starck. She started as OH in the beginning of the season and was playing 6 positions, and then was demoted to just playing the back row. She didn't let it bother her and has handled the situation with a lot of grace. I admire that.

The problem is that as a player she has gone through pretty long stretches where she is blocked repeatedly and/or hits out. At the end of last season, she had excellent matches in the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament. But against Wisconsin, she had an absolutely terrible match -- in five sets, she totalled 11 kills, with 12 attack errors, on 32 swings for a -.031 hitting percentage. And zero blocks. Cam Hannah has performed significantly better this season (.280 hitting %) than Zoe has (.162 hitting %). Much as I love Zoe's powerful kills, and blocking prowess, I prefer Cam.
