I'm really upset at the lack of attempts our middles get.

Will Grimes get another shot at serving this set? I hope so.

Perugini a big factor. Rough day for the officials! Lots of won challenges! What is the worst rotation for PSU lately?

Hate it when I'm right; I knew we weren't good enough to beat Purdue this year.
The Michigan State loss was bad; the other losses were not bad losses.

I'm really upset at the lack of attempts our middles get. Mac does a great job of setting to the pins from all over the court. But, she has struggled making a connection with either Allie or Taylor even when she gets a good pass off the serve. Only in the Minnesota match were Mac and Taylor in sync. Seleisa had more success connecting with Allie and Katie Clark last year. Allie and Katie combined for 4.3 kills per set. In comparison, this season Allie and Taylor have combined for 3.1 kills per set. In comparison to her pre-injury numbers last season, Taylor is slightly up in kills per set. But Allie is off from 2.2 to 1.6 kills per set.

In back to back matches KSC has inserted Quinn Menger into the lineup to serve at a crucial point in the fifth set. Unfortunately ......
It has to be extremely difficult to stand around through 4 and a half sets of volleyball and then be asked to walk onto the court in a high pressure moment and deliver an effective serve. Kind of like a place kicker in football, except the place kicker gets to warm up for his moment while the volleyball player hasn't hit a ball in a couple of hours!
On another note; a big turning point in set 5 came when Cam Hannah delivered a great serve that the receiver knocked toward the stands. But, someone (didn't check on who) for Purdue retrieved it with a hit that produced a perfect set for Chloe Chicoine. Chloe proceeded to jump four or five feet into the air and delivered a killer of a kill. That was a huge out-of-system point! Made me cry all over again that she was once a Penn State recruit.
