It appeared to me that Yale kept attacking the 5 zone (between Grimes and Hannah) eventually forcing Katie to insert Stack to shore up the serve receive. I wonder how that will play out tomorrow night?

Sorry guys, I messed up the starting time and so just got started in the middle of the 2nd set.
Bad time to start. PSU hit .550 in the first set and .207 in the 2nd. A disturbing trend by PSU. Great in the 1st set and poor in the 2nd and 3rd and great in the 4th. Sort of like PSU thought after the 1st set, "We've got this, no problem." As RR said multiple times, "you need to respect your opponent". If you don't, bad things can happen.

I think something else happened in the break. I know not what but I think there was a realization that hit Yale and they ran with it. Wiser heads than mine but I did not observe behavior indicating PSU had let their foot off.

I think something else happened in the break. I know not what but I think there was a realization that hit Yale and they ran with it. Wiser heads than mine but I did not observe behavior indicating they had let their foot off. I'm not necessarily saying they let the foot off the gas, but, numerous times this season, PSU has had a good 1st set and then the 2nd set sucked. I think that a large part of it is the serve receive. As Seeyajohn mentioned, Starck needed to come in for Cam for serve receive. Whatever it is, it needs to be fixed. I think that part of it is Mac also. She isn't that consistent. The middle connection is sometimes there and sometimes not. Mac seems to have a good connection with Taylor more than Allie. Allie has hit much better in the prior two years than this year. |

PSU must do better tomorrow or could be a short match. Frustrating when PSU pulls the Jeckel and Hyde routine. PSU’s bench is deep enough to make the changes needed to win these matches but the coaching staff seems scared to do it even when it’s painfully obvious things aren’t working. |

When our passing outsides struggle, we sub out the wrong one, and our best passing outside from last season hasn’t been in serve receive all year. |
