From what the people "in the know" looking at the RPI of various schools, say that PSU might be the 4th team for a regional host, BUT, they can't lose more than 2 matches in the B1G season; not bad losses, losses at all. Reason is that Creighton is pretty much even with PSU and they have a very easy conference that they can win out on (Big East).
A large part of this is that the NCAA committee depends a lot on the RPI, which is terribly flawed. Creighton will be penalized a little for their weak conference schedule, but not that much. As I've been complaining before about PITT; they have the highest RPI, yet they've played the weakest pre-conf schedule of the top 6-7 teams. NOT that I'm saying PITT isn't a good team. They look like the best team so far, but they shouldn't have that high an RPI. Oh well. I just hope that PSU doesn't end up in the PITT regional.
