I was worried about this one before the match started. Indiana has been playing very well at home, #3 in the poll has a target on its back, Aird has a history with Penn State and this was the last match of a road trip. Seemed like a perfect trap match.

That it was, nitnelium, that it was. Way too many errors (serving and attacking) by Penn State. Thank goodness the match didn't go 5. Who knows what happens then.

I'll add that I think the early afternoon start times also negatively affects the traveling players more. Pitt lost yesterday in similar fashion: road trip and early afternoon time slot.

Me too. And IND is a better team than Maryland. And I was worried about that.

Not related, but I thought I'd share this tidbit.
I was recently rewatching the 2013 final between PSU and Wisconsin and didn't remember it being so close. Prior to rewatching it, I vaguely recalled PSU taking care of the Badgers in dominating fashion, but I was wrong.
Wisconsin had their chances to go up 2-1 and possibly could have won the match in 4-5 sets. I was scared all over again, LOL!!

Appropriate that the teams ended up tied with service errs at 15.

Yeah, and in the 4th set Micah came thru with an ace off the net and then some good serves to finish it off.
Edit: Micha - I always seem to mispell her first name

Appropriate that the teams ended up tied with service errs at 15. Even though tough serves are encouraged, there must be some restraints in over-serving. There are and will be games that are decided by one or two points and service errors may be the difference in winning and losing. Hope they'll practice tons amount this week to make some corrections

Hope they'll practice tons amount this week to make some corrections I posted this in another thread, but it's probably more relevant here. I've been thinking about the serving a lot lately. I don't recall where I read this, or which coach did this, but a certain coach would make the back line shorter by a few feet during serving practices. The reason he did this is because he realized the players were amped-up during matches and hit the ball long, more often than not during actual games, whereas in practice they would serve extremely well and in-bounds. I thought that was a great managerial breakdown and tactic.

I started to inadvertently hold my breath when we were serving toward the end of the match. Such a momentum killer. Glad we didn't go to 5 sets.
I saw Karis was wearing something on her wrist/hand. Anyone know what happened?
