Although I haven’t had a chance to watch “The Streak” yet, I’m planning to do so soon and would love to read everyone’s thoughts on it who have already seen it. I’m glad to see Coach Rose and those 2007-10 teams spotlighted for their incredible accomplishments. Thanks to pinkpanther for the great idea to start this thread. |

Ok, so I guess I have to be the first to comment.
I have to first admit, I haven't finished it, because our DVR didn't record the whole thing.
It really brought back a lot of great memories of those seasons. I have been to so many home matches over the last ~30+ years, but I have only traveled to one away set of matches in my life -- the final four in Omaha for the second championship. The match against Nebraska in the Final Four is probably my favorite PSU volleyball memory. It was amazing listening to thousands of Nebraska fans cheering against our few hundred PSU fans that made the trip. So it was pretty surreal seeing that match on TV all these years later.
It was great to see how many of the former players contributed to the story, too. I can picture a lot of moments from those seasons, but the one thing that made it into the show that made me laugh is how they talked about how fast the matches ended in the second season of the streak. I have a friend I sit with at the matches, and he often says, "Don't you remember when we used to be done in 45 minutes and be on the road home by now?". It was funny to hear the players talk about how they came out with that mentality.
Coach Rose always talked about how the current players need to reflect on the legacy of the teams that came before them, and it was so interesting to see that thread throughout the show. I hope the current team enjoys the story and it provides some extra motivation to continue this great season they are having. If not, maybe Darcy can come back and tear into them in the locker room like Megan said she did in the championship against Texas.
