PSU takes 3rd set and match 25-21 on a kill by Maggie out of middle. PSU started slow but got their act together as the match went on. Also, when behind in the 3rd, they put a run together to get back in the game.

My impressions after watching tonights match:
Taylor is a stud!! Need to set her more. The connection with Izzy is far superior than with Maggie.
Was very happy with Jocelyn. She got picked on in serve receive and handled it nicely
Izzy was just ok today but nice to see setter dumps for kills.
Caroline was playing great then went all power again. She is best when she takes a bit off the ball
Serving was significantly better!!! Lots of aces
Jess seems to be in a bit of an offensive funk. I am sure she will get out of it. Nice serving and blocks tonight
Cam is having a great season and seems to be more the go to player now than Jess. Maybe because defenses are always looking at Jess, but when she is playing well PSU looks great
I did think the match seemed sloppy. Terry exposed are defense. Need to cover the campfire.But Illinois is a quality opponent so a 3-0 sweep is sweet
I will be going to the Maryland match and am excited but still hoping we can restore the Purdue and Louisville magic.

I’ll play devils advocate here and say I was hoping for a fiery response by this team after the Wisco disaster and saw them start slow again and play with no emotion. It was a very underwhelming performance by the pins offensively (except Cam in the 3rd set) and Terry tore up the block. We have better options and choose not to use them while struggling to beat teams that are very mid B1G programs that won’t make the tournament. Happy to see Jocelyn step up. Putting her in the line up for Starck was overdue, and a Taylor stood out, but I’m not impressed by tonight’s performance at all. If I’m picking brackets after this match, I’d say we susceptible to an early exit from the tournament and not making it to the regional.
