Just another reminder that there is less distance than ever between the elite programs with top 10 recruits and the second tier programs.
I feel bad for those Stanford women. For the last 2 years they might have been the second best team in college VB -- they just couldn't quite solve PSU. Bugg, Howard, Burgess come close but never quite get the ring. This year they might have done it with Anajaku.

I think what bothered me about Stanford's 2012 recruiting class was their apparent sense of entitlement. It was pretty clear that they were "angry" at PSU for having defeated them in the 2013 Regional Final. That they were misguided enough to have shared this feeling with the media, and that their coach was OK with it has made me enjoy their fall.
I fear PSU might start to show this sense of entitlement. As fans, we need to be careful.
I hope we make it to the round of 16.

It's a good thing Russ is a humble man, at least in the way he carries himself very humbly in the media. I guess he's eaten enough humble pie to know that you have to respect all your opponents. I firmly believe he imparts this mentality on his team. Also, the team has eaten enough humble pie, in the form of 2 sweep losses as of late, to know not to allow themselves to get too cocky. So now, the only problem is the fans. We too need to stay humble AND thankful. We are so lucky to be PSU fans, really. Most schools/fans in the nation would give (I don't know, a right arm) to have one of seven NC's.
