As part of our excruciatingly slow process of updating the write-ups for Penn State’s incoming 2016 class, below are excerpts from an update we posted on DigNittanyVolleyball.com with stats and information about Kristin Krause, a 5-9 Setter/DS from Parkland High School (Allentown, PA) and ECPV 17-Titanium. We're not trying to start a setter controversy here -- just giving some background on a player who, as every other new player on the team, will be competing for playing time. Whether any of them will succeed in their efforts -- who knows.

◾MaxPreps National Junior Class All American,

◾Volleyball Magazine Second Team All American,
◾Prep Volleyball Honorable Mention Academic All American,
◾2015 Nike Tournament of Champions All Star Team,
◾2015 Pennsylvania Gatorade Player of the Year,
◾2014 Pennsylvania Gatorade Player of the Year Finalist,

◾When running a 5-1 offense, she never lost a best of 5 match.
◾She was 52-0 in match play.
◾She established Parkland offensive career records in service aces 283, with a career 91.7% serving efficiency.
◾Her career Parkland team hitting efficiency was a record .425
◾She holds the school single season team hitting efficiency record of .428
◾This past season her top three hitters averaged .608, .585 and .480
◾She finished with 2938 assists.

Impressive accomplishments and recognitions. Congratulations to Kristin! Let's hope she continues on this performance path at the collegiate level. Bryanna, Kristin, Wilma (alphabetical) could be a strong stable of setters for PSU.

I always thought Parkland was in Orefield.

Got to watch Kristin many times. We live in the Lehigh Valley. She is quite the talent. Great serve and very high volleyball IQ. Could immediately have an impact on the team. Her best hitter, Siena Salvaggio, is also going to PSU, but on a swimming scholarship...I believe. It's a shame, because she is amazing, too! Would love her strength and swing in our front court. Maybe Coach can coax her away from the pool?? ; )
