She looks about as youthful and fresh as she did in college. I guess Olympic training will do that for ya. As a retired person, I more than match her napping schedule, however.

I just noticed recently how much muscle mass both Christa and Alicia have now. They look completely different than they did during their Penn State days or even the past couple of years.

I noticed that too. That's probably due in part to maturing physically, and partly to training full time all year, but whatever it is, it shows.

Gotten a kick out of photos elsewhere of Harmotto next to Karch at media events. I may have my facts wrong but i thought in 2007 that Karch either had trouble with recognizing Harmotto and Fawcett or pronouncing their names during the broadcast of the Stanford game. He only had eyes for Foluke (sp?!). Now, Hamotto is a captain. 4 PSU players from that era on the national team; 2 on the Olympic team.
Karch selected 2 PSU players for the backup team for the Pan Am games. What a turnabout!!

Thanks very much! You've now been promoted to Staff status (which means you get paid nothing, and have to endure my constant slings and arrows).

During China game, commentators say Dietzen has announced she is ending her professional career after the Olympics. "it's time for what's after volleyball." Her play time has been limited because of knee problems since 2014. Courtney Thompson also said to be hanging up her knee pads.

At least Christa got in today--she helped make a difference. At least? Much more than that. She was instrumental in that win. She and Robinson were crucial to that win yesterday. Funny observation. In game 4 in rotation 6, Alisha looked at Christa, called for a back slide, winked and shrugged her shoulders....like "hey, let's go for it!" Great pass, Christa went around Alisha essentially jumped off two feet floated past the block and boomed the ball to the floor. (Hint...she is not a slide hitter) Both smiled and laughed a little. It was a fun series to watch because I witnessed a special moment that was going on between those two. Christa has been very strong and solid in her two matches and brings a calmness to the court. She leads from behind.
