Pretty clear he feels the upperclassmen aren't "pulling their weight" . Hopefully the team finds the right chemistry and traction. Not sure how much fight these weekends foes will offer so the intangibles might play heavier into the picture.

It’s something coach Russ Rose said he was considering after three consecutive losses. Depending on what he saw in practices this past week, Rose said there’s a possibility freshmen — “newcomers” — could be rotating into play.

Rose said the move is something he’s considering based on the effort shown by some of the veteran members of the team and the performances of freshman libero Kendall White and redshirt freshman middle blocker Tori Gorrell.

“Certainly the team could utilize some younger blood and a little more energy and things like that,” Rose said. “We’ll see.”

“I wasn’t as disappointed with our Sunday effort as I was our Saturday effort,” Rose said. “But, I’m still a little salty about our first weekend at home’s effort. I thought we should have been better.

Below, I love the fact that White and Gorrell are becoming spokespeople for the team. It seems to me that they have "the grind" mentality.

I'd say putting Sciorra in as much as Coach did (and Novakovic) is confirmation that he meant/did what he said. But think back a few years: Courtney replaced Dorton and other Frosh have pushed vets out of the way. But the proposition that some folks had their positions sewed up is not a sure thing, never has been.

Of course, that was yesterday. who knows what today will bring.

It’s something coach Russ Rose said he was considering after three consecutive losses. Depending on what he saw in practices this past week, Rose said there’s a possibility freshmen — “newcomers” — could be rotating into play.

Rose said the move is something he’s considering based on the effort shown by some of the veteran members of the team and the performances of freshman libero Kendall White and redshirt freshman middle blocker Tori Gorrell.

“Certainly the team could utilize some younger blood and a little more energy and things like that,” Rose said. “We’ll see.”

Seems the message is being sent to the wrong group of "veterans". Defense doesn't appear to be the problem (in fact its been much improved and looked real good against Stanford), and the "veterans" that didn't show up in the stats on Friday were the seniors, all defenders. Unless the stats were wrong and they played.
