The only significant difference is the opponent hitting % allowed by each team, and PSU has that edge. I cannot see any significant difference in aces or blocks. Also, PSU has the home court advantage, which should be huge.

Going back and looking at the schedule of matches played, PSU really only had one bad loss, the sweep by Stanford. The other two losses were in 5 sets. Also, PSU has only lost 1 set in their 12 wins. Not too shabby.
