Anyone have a comprehensive take on where we stand on replay; where it is used; when it will become mandatory?
sitting behind the bench in CO, it appeared Coach seemed above it all until bad ref calls drove him to reach for the green card more than once...

I'm not impressed with the replay systems that currently exist in the B1G. Unlike the system of world championship volleyball, the B1G arenas that have replay do not have the definitive camera angles that enable accurate line and net calls. The B1G cameras often leave considerable doubt as to the correct call.

Also, the quality of the cameras is not nearly up to par with FIVB standards. They need high speed and high resolution cameras, and nowadays they are not that expensive anymore.

No fan of replay cameras in volleyball.

I got the impression that Coach called for replays like an extra timeout--at least a couple times.

BTW, saw a TV match from Creighton last year. They had an excellent camera set up, not just for challenges, on the sidelines. Gave great shots of the action. Not sure if that's a model for what's to come.
