Maybe the best thing for this group is to remain under the radar but yet in striking distance for when we get to the survive and advance.

Hopefully this last road trip will be a nice learning curve and the team can make a push and regain some momentum and swagger for the last 8 game. Going 7-1 or 6-2

I still think they have as good a chance as most anyone to push into the Final 4 if all cylinders are firing.

Final four is a real long shot. There are three teams in the B1G that are stronger than PSU. I would place Nebraska clearly at the top. Then an edge for Minny over Wisky. Then a grouping of the two Michigans and PSU.

A seven loss season would be fantastic. Eight losses are likely. Nine a possibility. Very few have made the final four with that many regula season losses.

On the plus side almost everyone is back next year.

No way Jose! Too invested in this year. This year is far from over and we have 8 games remaining in which one or two of the top 3 B1G teams can EASILY slip from the top 4 perch and someone like Florida or Texas or Kansas can all host.

I can't remember an AVCA top 10 or 20 POLL with so many losses. Have you all looked? This year is WAY different than past years and I don't think previous years can be used as a standard.

We have seen 2 very strong B1G teams get thrown in together on a bracket. The unavoidable fact is that there are some losses (plural) coming the way of the Wis/Minn/Neb teams. It is notabout us hosting of winning the B1G but rather probable that only 2 maybe even 1 (longshot) B1G hosts , crazy as it sounds

I would take this PSU team to Fla/Tx/Kansas with confidence.

How can people forget Wisconsin's lucky draw to Seattle. It happens!

I instantly thought the same thing...Iowa gets Rutgers right before us, so you just know where all of their prep is going. They are dangerous.

First off, I don't know the answer to that question. And secondly, I understand that Nebraska poses a tougher challenge (at least on the face of things) than does Penn State. But my point is that the fan base of a team looking to climb probably is more apt to throw caution to the wind and hold out hope for their team, cheering the team on, with a "what do we have to lose" attitude.

In what year would we ever expect to find IA 7-5 and OSU 5-7?

I can name about 7 OSU players off the top of my head, and not a single IA player. But i've watched them play, and Shymansky (Sp?) seems to have committed some sort of alchemy.

I wonder if getting MD and RU into the BIG helped them believe that it is possible for them to win? Always felt sorry for them, being poorly compared to IA St.

Not a gimme, by any means.

The only thing is that we face both teams at home, which I imagine would be a much taller task for Iowa to overcome.
