Congrats to Thelen! She was our only attacker with a strong hitting percentage: 10 kills at .321 hitting percentage. They are going to need to forget this game quickly before taking on Ohio State.

I wouldnt read too much into this match. Maryland ha's been doing this all year long to teams but just can't sustain.

Well, I would read that we have not yet found a combo that manages to play well together. I realize that Ali has become more comfortable playing in the back row but with all the attention she receives from the opponent it creates some weak defense and I wonder why coach feels she must stay given the infrequency of back row attack.
Why do we set Ali so often in the left side to see her go 0 for 10 or more on the plain vanilla attack? Is that the only attack option that pin hitter has? Why not 31's or combos to give her some thing different and to challenge the defense?
The conundrum is that we all know that Russ knows this so what is his reasoning to stay with the routine? What are we not seeing here?
