Well the super frosh have one more chance to win it on their own (played a big role as frosh but not their "team" really
Some thoughts
1. Wonder if the staff is done putting the finishing touches on next year's team ? Gotta think there is a need for a couple of pin hiiters on the left and right side and I suspect there may be help coming via the transfer route and perhaps another recruit ? Anyone hearing anything ? Certainly there is a huge need and opportunity for a younger player who feels she has been over recruited and is looking fro a change.
2. As for player development - will the Sophs (Rivera and Nokovec) take the next steps and be contributers next year ?
3. Ditto Bryana W and Nia Reed - both talented heavily recruited gals and so far unable to step up as prime time players
Longer Term
Who is gonna play at the outside and right side in 2018 when Ali and Simone are graduated ? Scary thought of the lack of depth / players on the pins in 2018
Been a tought last 2 seaons but I think next one has a chance to be special
Thoughts ?

2018 seems like a black hole. Serve receive and passing should be good.
Maybe better to look to 2017 and hope Coach Rose has great plans in mind for the following year.

For 2017, I'd like to see one of the girls really develop and take over at the Opposite position. Or, if possible, bring in a strong Opposite transfer. For 2018, didn't Nia Reed and Novakovice redshirt? I think Clare Powers as well. So, the cupboards are not totally bare in 2018 at the OH position. Hopefully, those girls will have improved (dramatically) by then.

Based on playing time to date, I'm sceptical any of them can. But I am not qualified to make anything even remotely close to an informed judgment.

I don't know the cutoff for "competitive," but I think the 2018 class is going to be very, very good. And not comparing them (or Penn State's other projected players to Stanford this year), but Stanford started four freshmen against Wisconsin. I think Penn State will be competitive in 2018.
