Michaela was absent from Saturday’s match. Was she too ill to suit up? I’ve heard rumblings—anyone have facts?

You can't blame Michaela for wanting to go somewhere where she can be a starter. That is all I will say.

Michaela was absent from Saturday’s match. Was she too ill to suit up? I’ve heard rumblings—anyone have facts? Didn't she follow Dennis Hohenshelt from Virginia to PSU? Why would she be rumbling? Doesn't make sense. I think she knew that she'd probably be sitting this year with all the talented senior starters.

You can't blame Michaela for wanting to go somewhere where she can be a starter. That is all I will say. Why would she want to leave the #1 ranked team in the country? What... just to be a "starter" on a team ranked #25 or something? There is a very good chance she's a starter next year with so little competition at her position. I think you need to think through these knee-jerk reaction posts.

After reading this review on Micheala I think she is a much more talented player than I first thought and could be a real asset in the future.
Michaela Putnicki, 6-1 OH, Lewis-Palmer (Monument, Colorado), Colorado Juniors — Virginia
A true six-rotation outside at the highest levels, Putnicki combines a 10-3 approach touch with tremendous passing and defensive chops, a rare combination indeed. Able to block dynamically on either pin, Putnicki has made great strides in the past year as an attacker. She has a powerful arm swing, has added shots to her arsenal and is now really strong hitting the pipe out of the back row. Putnicki takes pride in being a leader, is calm, cool and not easily frustrated and wants the ball when the game is on the line. Ever improving, her best years will come at Virginia, where she could be a four-year starter. Mikaela transferred to Penn State. Her play reminds fans of Megan Courtney and I hope she seizes her opportunity to become a team leader next season.
