Megan and Micha will be playing. It's supposed to be streamed on the USA Volleyball webpage.
I'm hoping Micha outshines Wisconsin's former setter.

Well, up 8-6 at first break. Video is underwhelming.

Micha got the start. Carlini subs in back row to serve. USA scores. Up 13-11

13-11 USA up, Wisconsin's setter replaces Micha. I get the impression it had nothing to do with play.

Here's a link to the result: www.teamusa.org/USA-Volleyball/Features/2017/June/13/New-Players-Impact-US-Womens-Win-over-Canada. "American outside hitter Megan Courtney (Dayton, Ohio) and middle Amber Rolfzen (Papillion, Nebraska) paced Team USA with nine points each, both starting the third and fourth sets as each of the 14 players started in two sets each. Courtney provided eight kills on 16 attacks with a block while providing a 60 positive reception percent on 10 chances. Rolfzen chipped in seven kills on 11 swings and two aces. Outside hitter Madi Kingdon (Phoenix, Arizona), who also started the third and fourth sets, tallied eight kills on 12 swings in the victory." The setting combination of Hancock and (Name deleted to protect gnu2vball) led Team USA to a 41 kill percent and .246 hitting efficiency (50-20-122) for the match. The Americans out-blocked the Canadians 10-8 and held an 8-0 ace advantage. The U.S. defense limited Canada to a 35 kill percent and .165 hitting efficiency (38-20-109). Both teams committed a high rate of service errors with Canada having 20 and Team USA with 18. As a squad, the Americans had a 52 positive reception percent to Canada’s 35 positive percent. “I think it is cool, just because we got to play our friendly neighbors to the north and just to preparing for a big tournament with Pan Am Cup,” (name deleted to protect gnu2vball) said following the match. “Suiting up and for the first time in the number 7 (her jersey) in a long time and for the USA – I just get chills thinking about it. I am excited to be on this team and show everyone what I can do.” If I'm reading the Stats correctly, Micha led the team with three aces, which the article inexplicably fails to mention actually does mention, as pointed out by traveler, but not my slacker staff.

Observations:
Even with the really bad video, it was possible to see that Courtney, playing only 2 sets, was killing it. Stats bore this out. I thought I saw that she also had an ace, but i'm not seeing it in the points. She's clearly not one of the taller players, and it's really good to see her talents appear strong nonetheless.
The audio was ridiculous....spent little time covering the match and constant interviews of WVB players instead. Distracting. Also, lots of sympathy for poor #7 who wasn't doing well when subbed in during sets 1 and 2.
? Wondered if the Hancock-Courtney duo was broken up on purpose?

Also, they didn't dis Hancock:
"Starting setter Micha Hancock (Edmond, Oklahoma) served out three aces on 14 serves and added two blocks and one kill." And I think that K was the only setter dump...quite unexpected and expertly done.

Nevertheless, MICHA IS THE REAL DEAL!!!!

And I think that K was the only setter dump...quite unexpected and expertly done. I begged the staff not to rush, to check and double check their work. Because ultimately, their work is (very unfairly) viewed as my work. They simply snickered -- not laughed, which would have, apparently, taken too much effort -- just snickered. Almost inaudibly. Scary really. They're getting worse.

Also, if I counted right, 10/14 are from BIG. Awkward? Hancock-Carlini. Rolfzen. Tapp. Tapp. etc. While it's great to see the BIG represented, I wonder if it has been a bit difficult to bury old rivalries.

Thanks for the sensitivities to my sensitivities. I imagine I'm going to have to change to referring to Wisconsin's former setter as WFS, just to protect myself from carpal tunnel if for no other reason. But if you did it to tease.... well that's different. By all means keep it up! Did any of you catch that Flovolleyball interview with WFS? I couldn't decide which freaked me out more, the Flo interviewer or WFS herself. The talk about how great it was to have B1G teammates--she mentioned all but two of 'em (guess which ones?), but the line above says it all, "I am excited to be on this team and show everyone what I can do.” Here's hoping Micha can duplicate what she did in the 2014 season opener. I want us to win the gold in 2020 and if nothing else, Micha's a winner.

I enjoyed watching this stream even though the camera angle was terrible (a high school gym, so I guess there were few options) and notwithstanding the nasally announcer who usually handles USC games. I would say that our former Olympians have noticed both Micha and Megan. Kelsey Robinson admitted that she "and the girls" had a bet on how many aces Micha would have. Kelsey bet on 3, and seconds after that revelation, Micha got her third. Wonder what Kelsey got for winning the bet? Wopat commented that Megan's "signature" shot is tooling the block. It is great to see our recent grads in the mix.
I also heard that Alisha Glass has retired after giving birth to a future Penn Stater. Go team.
