Please remember that the top four seeds to the NCAA host the regional NCAA championships.

Eight PSU losses.... Two to Stanford and a 14-6 finish in the B1G? That would be a pretty big disappointment. I was sorta hoping for 4 losses or less.

Yea, Hawaii 13th with a brand new coach? I take these so called projections with grain of salt! Two losses to Stanford who will not have Inky nor Hodson this season and a new head coach, even if it is Hambly he is still new to the program at Stanford? Don't be surprised if we win both of these matches. Last season we had the team to take it all. Just needed leadership and communication on court. If that happens, I can see us competing in final four this Dec.

did not know Shoji had announced his retirement. i pulled up the video highlights from his retirement celebration...uniquely Hawaiian! Looks like they made the transition as smooth as possible. BTW, he looked younger at his celebration than any other video I've seen of him!

Does Hawaii break into the elite eight? Where do we find the road for PSU to host the Regionals as a top four seed? Does Minnesota or Wisconsin collapse? Maybe in Rec HALL?

As I figured, #22 Hawaii is going to have a rough season with a new coach. Lots of growing pains. More than likely not be a top 25 (RPI) team at end of regular season. Lost to unranked Marquette in 5 sets yesterday and were swept by #22 San Diego today. They have yet to play #12 UCLA tomorrow (Sunday). On a positive side, they do play their 1st ten matches at home (nothing new) before their 1st road match which is in conference play. They should get some wins in the next two weeks when they play unranked Western Carolina, South Dakota, but they have some tough matches to come in the likes of #10 BYU, #23 Utah before they start conference play which won't be that easy either. Robyn really has her work cut out for her with this team!
On a side note, Dave Shoji was at both matches in the stands looking stress free.

Latest RPI Futures has us now losing 5 matches (was 8). What this tells me is that we were expected to lose both matches to Stanford and the match with Colorado. Not sure why Colorado was a projected loss. Stanford was debatable until the matches were played. I'm guessing those five projected losses are Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois and maybe either Illinois or Wisconsin again. Doesn't give me any confidence in this projected rankings. 4. Penn State - Big Ten (25-5) - .6789, LW - 7, SOS - 21 Read more: This weeks RPI FuturesIn Rich Kern's RKPI we are now #1 with MN #2

Do you all realize how much energy will be in Rec Hall this year.
I dont see us losing there....maybe not even a game. It is going to be electric. Penn State Athletics in general is skyhigh.
It will be very hard to beat thia team and they are fast becoming road warriors.
People are excited to see this team.

Hell, Florida had 7,500 the first week against Texas.

Hey, PSUMaui...just reread your post from August detailing why we would beat Stanford. You are even smarter than I remembered!
