I don't recall, has a team ever been skunked in a college set? 15-0. PSU came close against Binghamton in 2012.

Yes Kat was there and suited up all you had to do was look for the girl in sunglasses so I guess that is going to be her trademark the rebel lion. and secondly before any one gets too excited lets not forget this UT Martin team looked like a high school squad. they could not pass to save there lives. so while any win is good we should view this one as a spring training game. BUT LETS GO LIONS

Some quick observations - Simone seems improved especially on defense, Frantti doesn't have the quickness to be a solid backrow defender, Coach seems to be committed to using two setters and I like it so far, and I think Dettering looks pretty special on the right side.

Frantti seemed very challenged at back row defense against UT Martin. How did she do against Delaware?

Let's just say some players are not natural backrow defenders even though they try very hard. Frantti plays front row very well but Coach is determined to make her a six rotation player.

Frantti receives (historically) better than Lee. Lee did well digging in the first two matches. Note too that White was stationed on the right rather than in the middle as was generally the case last year. This allows Lee to play center field and attack from back row. Another big change is that so far there has been very little use of the DS group. That might change if our digging and passing prove insufficient against better opposition.

Things will morph and evolve.
Frantti is solid passer and defender. A tempered use of her at this point of the season and for many of them is prudent.
It is a long grind and by no means should players be worn out if you dont have too.
There are injuries and health issues all over DI right now and you have to wonder how much attrition will come into play this year . Depth and experience may be one of our advantages over others this year.

Among other things, does anyone know if Cather's sunglasses may be due to an ocular injury?

Among other things, does anyone know if Cather's sunglasses may be due to an ocular injury? Good question. I have no idea. With HIPAA, we're unlikely to know. Whatever it is, best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Did we notice how well Frantti did receiving and digging in the WVU match? I think she is likely to continue as a 5 or 6 rotation player. Excited to see if she adjusts her hitting against Stanford which has started off blocking well against pretty decent competition. Things will morph and evolve. Frantti is solid passer and defender. A tempered use of her at this point of the season and for many of them is prudent. It is a long grind and by no means should players be worn out if you dont have too. Does anyone know why Cather did not suit up? www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2017/07/170705132940.htmThis is a complete guess!!! However it is interesting and informative (to me anyways) about treatment for this injury. "Sensitivity to light can be common and impact activities of daily life suggesting that light mitigation might improve quality of life in many of these patients. Photophobia is a common symptom for patients following traumatic brain injury. Our goal in this study was to provide medical staff like athletic trainers with a method and means to assess and subsequently provide relief to an athlete who may be experiencing symptoms of photophobia," Clark adds. The goal is to help the concussion patient feel better as the brain heals. "We compare the colored glasses to being like a brace or cast but for the brain," he says. "It is temporary but prevents further injury or pain." At least 3.8 million people in the United States sustain a concussion or traumatic brain injury every year, many not for the first time. As with many other health conditions, the presentation of concussion symptoms can vary greatly -- while some individuals exhibit very little to no change in functionality and may report no symptoms at all, others may report confusion, headache, decreased balance and vision disturbances including blurry vision, trouble focusing and sensitivity to light.

That was my guess too, hence my question. Speculating wildly, I thought it unlikely that she would wear sun glasses just to be different.
