I know Russ doesn't care about his wins but this is a question of is he or isn't he. Russ Rose should be the winningest DI coach with 1,213 wins (not counting these last two wins) but NCAA has him behind Larry Brock (Navy) with 1,325 wins. Problem I see with this is that Larry was the Juniata College (DIII) coach from 1977-2010 with 1,252 wins, so shouldn't only the wins (73) as a DI coach be counted towards his wins in this category? Why would they include all his DIII wins. I can see them including it in the "Winningest Coaches" and the "Winningest Active Coaches" category's but not the "Winningest DI Coach". I can see ESPN finding this and saying that Russ is the #2 winningest coach in DI. NCAA Coaching Records as of End of Season 2016

I think Mick Haley's non-DI wins are counted in his totals, as well.

Russ and Larry ran the nation's best camp together for years (I think several years ago NCAA disallowed fraternization between D1s and any other programs/providers). It's through my daughter's attendance at the camp that I became a PSU/Rose fan. I care about the difference between winningest D1 and winningest NCAA coach because i'm such a Lion's chauvinist. Not sure if Coach would give it much thought, especially given their close relationship.

It's the "Hate PSU" crowd at it again. Can't have PSU at the top of any list, so they gladly count DIII wins to knock down Coach Rose/PSU.

Just as I predicted would happen! At beginning of the Florida vs Florida State match today, SEC TV has Larry Brock at top of the list for Winningest DI Coaches. SMH!!
Larry Brock - Total wins as a coach at Juniata College (DIII) - 1,352 total. Of that total he had 1,252 wins as a women's coach and 100 wins as a men's coach. As a DI coach his current record as of today is 83-98 (he's in his 7th season as Navy's head coach). And to add insult to injury, he is a Penn State Grad. I am not trying to take away any of his accomplishments, but they were all at the DIII level, not as a DI coach.

Go Army! (and all of Navy's opponent's.) Don't have any issue with the coach. My issue is with ESPN!
