As for the Minnesota match, I noticed a few things. First, MN was tooling the block quite a bit and their libero was digging nails. Their entire defense was digging everything but SS put in a lot of miles on that court tonight running after the passes. As for Texas, they had a lot of hitting errors but still looked like a top 10 team. Later on in the match, Minnesota was starting to let Texas tip over the block but they adjusted and had their outside hitter come over behind the block and saved many of those Texas tips. Lots of long rallies. It will be a great match when we play MN the last match of the regular BIG season. Looks like coach had their libero set up in the exact spot she needed to be to get many of those hard hits by Texas OH's. I think the big key to when we play MN is to serve them tough and keep hitting errors down. Oh yea, also be able to thrive off of MN's crowd when we go there! On another note, Elliot is still the whining crybaby he always was with that animated face he makes every time things don't go his way as far as points go.

Props to Minnesota...they're gonna be tough this year. I want MN to stay #1 until last match of the BIG season!

Courtesy of YouTuber "Campus Girl" Thanks. Looking forward to watching this match. Want to see if MN is good or if TX is not-so-good. I only watched Set 2. No big revelations. I think Minnesota is very good. Texas not as strong at passing. Both Sun and Samedy are very good.

McSorely to Barkley for 46-yards puts PSU up 21-3! And a football upset - #2 Ohio State loses to #5 Oklahoma! We are currently ranked #4. Tomorrow we will probably fall to #5 if history does what it has done to us in the past.

After watching this match, I think Minnesota is legit and they will be very good this year. Their freshmen are playing with much poise. They will be tough to beat, especially at home. It's a good thing we don't play them until the last game of the season, when the result won't count towards our seeding. I think they will definitely be in the final four.
Texas is loaded with talent on their roster. If Ebony Nwanebu had a bad first set going 0-10, which may have cost them that set. She did not play the rest of the game. Lots of errors by Texas, especially the "into the net" kind (sort of like PSU in 2015 and 2016?). However, it's stuff you can clean up. Texas also has a young starting lineup. I really like their freshman setter Shook, she unfazed no matter what's happening around her; she reminds me of Samantha Bricio in that regard. Overall, Texas could have beaten Minnesota had they kept down the errors; I don't think Texas or anyone can beat Minnesota in MN, this year.

Still, Coach Franklin needs another couple good recruiting classes to be competitive in the Final Four. Not a bad time to build the team along with "resentment" to be ready.

Something different to consider:
You are Mary Wise. This looked to be a very good year for you. Now, your team has had one week of competition wiped off the slate and as of this morning, you probably don't have access to a practice gym in the foreseeable future (Rec Hall is now a shelter; I may be assuming incorrectly about gym space). UF is (I think) optimistically slating classes to resume Wednesday.
How do you recover? You probably spent the last 6 days arranging for the safety of your players and their families, not looking at tape.
If anyone wants to get all upset about PSU wiping the floor, they ought to put themselves in Mary Wise's shoes and think about things that are truly unfair.

From what I am seeing, they were using High Schools as shelters, and that the O'Connell Center was not a designated risk shelter so unless it was damaged, I would think that they would be able to use it for practice/preparing for this weekends tournament. They did in fact reschedule tomorrows match against Florida State for next Tuesday and are planning on playing the Gator Invitational this weekend (Florida A&M, Lipscomb and Northern Kentucky). I always look at the bright side. Consider last week a bye week. I know some teams like Hawaii have these.
