I just watched the game again and found something interesting. Because someone on VT mentioned that PSU used wiping out as a tactic to delay the game (like 13 times in the game), I watched the game carefully to figure out what's going on there. It's so much fun to watch the game with different viewpoint and you will see something that you not noticed before. 1. Illinois used kids as cleaners and they just don't know how to work. They didn't go out if no one asking them to do it. Actually, they are supposed to go out every time when players sliding on the floor. Therefore, wiping out 13 times in 5 set is not too much at all. 2. I am very surprised that no one on Stanford team (except Hentz) sliding their bodies on the floor throughout the whole game. Mostly, they tried to get to the ball on their knees. That's why they not calling for cleaning the floor. On the other hand, PSU players slided/rolled their bodies all the time to defense the floor. Even Washington, she slided her entire body a couple times when she served and played in the back row for defense. I just noticed that sliding/rolling your bodies is PSU defense style. 3. Kendall White always check the floor everytime when someone on the floor and she's the one to ask for cleaning. Sometimes, she took care the business by herself. LOL 4. I also tracked down when wipe out delaying Stanford service game. I think all of them is reasonable. One or two players sliding their bodies on the floor so hard. I don't understand why people have problems with that so bad and called it like cheap tactic by PSU.

If that's the only way to defend Stanford after the loss, that says a lot.

So for those on the VT to accuse RR is totally out of line. I watched some of the tournament matches from previous years and I found nothing like that on many of those occassions. thus, if they have any gripes, address it to Kendall's watchful eyes for safey first mindset. Otherwise, anyone making any other claims are just sour grapes

Otherwise, anyone making any other claims are just sour grapes I think orangeknight 's point # 1 was very important to note. I immediately noticed the young kids wiping the floor as I was watching the match, before anyone even made an issue of it on VT. Onthebench is right that Kendall White is the first one to begin requesting the wipe downs and there is a reason for it. I had only watched parts of sets 3 & 4 and all of set 5, so this morning I went back and watched the whole match. Here's what I found. Around the 56th minute of the video (the score was 18-12 in set 2) Kendall White tried to go after a kill by Plummer and did a split on the floor (I think she may have even gotten to the ball if she hadn't slipped). After this point she started requesting floor wipes. I don't recall seeing her or anyone else requesting floor wipes before that point. Also, the ref requested a floor wipe in set 4 during a time out at the 9-5 (score) mark. So, this was absolutely a player safety issue.

One thing I noticed that may have also caused Kendall to have floor wiped more is those kids missed half the floor when they were using those mops during time-outs. Sometimes they would move a foot or two away from the last place they mopped up when they turned around at the edge of the court. If they are going to allow kids to do this then they need to show them how to do it right, not just go thru the motions.

As was mentioned here and on Vtalk. This situation is 100% on the Refs. They are viewing all the areas and could have at any time said no.
Safety is always of primary concern.
Its just such a weak arguement. 🙄
