Ali Frantti of @pennstatevball is the #B1GVolleyball Player of the Week with 4.6 kills/1.4 digs per set and a .378 hit% last weekend
Well done! Here we go. First Haleigh, now Ali. I like it. 😊

Actually I think Frantti is playing much better than she did as a Freshman. She is playing all rotations, demonstrating a wide variety of shots, serving well, showing leadership and determination. For my mind, she has been the best player so far this season, and that is saying a lot since Detering has been pretty awesome too. Ultimately, Frantti's play has made it ok for Lee to hit for low percentages.

It's allowing for players to ebb and flow as they naturally do, that's for sure. There were times last year when it seemed like Lee had to strap the entire team to her back. That's backbreaking. Sharing is caring.

Traveler speaks my point better than did I. If we needed a point last year, it was Lee or nothing. This season, in the five set contests its Frantti and Lee.

I like it. 😊 Well deserved!! Liking her numbers this season! On another note, there seems to be some argument about FOW over in VT. We don't have to worry about getting in that discussion since we have no starting Freshmen this season. Next season we will have a "dog in the fight" with all the rookies coming in!

Ali was lights out on defense. I'm guessing if you ask Coach Rose what he was most impressed with during this past weekend concerning Ali's play, he'd say her passing and positioning. Her maturity is evident, and I can see her on Team USA in the near future. Understated and humble, yet passionate and disciplined. With her VB IQ being so high, the sky is the limit!
