We're turning this into a Match Day Thread, by changing the Subject line, and adding the stats link (the game is on BTN and can be viewed on BTN2go with cable subscription) Stats
Warning: Stats are on GameTracker, so prepare to have interruptions until the match is long over Go Penn State! We've posted a Q&A with Talking Head about the upcoming Nebraska match, and more. Click Here for the entire Q&A. Below is a brief excerpt: DigNittany: We’re speaking again with Talking Head, who as you may know, played D1 volleyball and has coached the sport for many years. Penn State, which is coming off three nice performances in the Penn State Classic, sweeping Yale, Wake Forest and Ohio, will enter the B1G season undefeated (10-0) for the first time since 2009. Tomorrow, Penn State takes on No. 14 Nebraska on Friday, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. The match will be a “White Out Rec Hall.” Although Nebraska lost on Saturday to the University of Northern Iowa, 3-1, they aren’t lacking for talent, or confidence. Here’s what Nebraska Coach John Cook and 6-3 Jr. OH Mikaela Foecke had to say to huskers.com about the upcoming match: Nebraska has won six five [it just seemed like six] straight matches from Penn State. What are your thoughts about Penn State’s chances going into this match? Talking Head: I thought for the most part, Penn State executed at a high level this past weekend. I think the team collectively has an internal motor that we didn’t see consistently the past two seasons. A couple of times you saw a team hanging with us, but before you knew it, it was a six or eight point spread for Penn State. There are certain rotations that seem to be scoring quite a bit. As we’ve discussed, I was impressed with how Penn State handled themselves in their game-fives against Texas A&M and Stanford, when they were down a bit. Having those experiences in your pocket is very, very important. So there are a lot of positives for Penn State going into the Nebraska match.

Having watched the FL-FLSt match the other night, I chalked up their problems w/Lipscomb to getting their feet back under them after a very distracting 2 weeks.
I thought they played clean, joyfully, and with the kind of skill you don't often see at the college level. So, while we're not playing them this week, had to respond to the meh y'all gave them. I predict one of the FL Gators will end up AVCA POY if they keep it up. But we've been bullish on FL before, only to see them get tripped up in conference play. TBD...

The final regular season game in 2014 was at Rec Hall (bet you were there) and PSU beat Nebraska in straight sets. It was in late November--11/29/14. Micha started the game with four aces during her service as she opened the game... remember?

from NCAA.com No. 14 Nebraska (7-3) at No. 2 Penn State (10-0)
Friday Sept. 22 7:00 p.m. ET
Penn State is one of just four remaining undefeated teams, and the Nittany Lions enter Big Ten play with signature wins over No. 4 Stanford (twice) and No. 25 Colorado. Coach Russ Rose’s team is loaded, paced by the trio of Simone Lee, Haleigh Washington and Ali Frantti. Lee, the reigning Big Ten Player of the Week is leading the Nittany Lions with 3.94 kills per set, with Frantti not far behind (2.53 kills per set). Washington does it on both sides of the net, as she is second on the team in kills with 2.54 and first in blocks with 1.49 per set. As a result, the Nittany Lions lead the country in hitting percentage (.360 percent).
[they posted the Heidi - Abby - Putnicki video but it didn't copy]
For Nebraska, they navigated a difficult non-conference season, with half of its contests coming against teams ranked in the Top 25, so the Cornhuskers will be battle-tested come Friday. But in order to score a huge road win and hand the Nittany Lions its first loss, Nebraska is going to need to play a clean game. They’ve held opponents to .137 percent hitting percentage, so Briana Holman (1.18 blocks per set) and Kenzie Maloney (4.62 digs per set) will need to get going early to shut down the potent Penn State attack.

the Nittany Lions lead the country in hitting percentage (.360 percent). Very important stat, along with the opponent hitting % stat. If PSU can keep it up all year, then look out NCAA Final Four.

It would appear that keeping on the good side of .300 is a stat that all of the recent PSU championship teams have shared.

I thought the whole team does it on both sides of the net... isn't that why teams switch sides between sets? Just saying.

Expect to see Holcombe and playing today. Just waiting on Cather.
That being said we are about as healthy and deep as any team in the country. Plan on staying there. 🤞

We really dont know ANY lineups for sure. 8pm it is.
