I hate John Cook. Mainly because he's such a whiner. Didn't anybody ever punch him in the nose when he was a kid?

Washington missed a chance to pull even The set should have been a Push instead of a 1 on the setter. That wasnt Haleighs fault. She tried to make something of it. |

I admit I quit watching at 17-12 in the second. But.you don't need to see a beat down to know it was a beat down. This was a rude awakening to reality.

That match was painful to watch!! My observations: We didn't serve tough resulting in Nebraska staying in system most of the match nor did we utilize Washington enough. Also, they killed us in the middle and our defense was not good at all. I was hoping Russ would have reverted back to the 5-1 after set 2 since the 6-2 wasn't doing any good against Nebraska because we were out of system most of the match.

I'll post the press conference quotes tomorrow (I know, if I don't want to do my job in a timely manner . . . .) but the jist of it is he said the coaches didn't do a good enough job preparing the players, the players weren't ready to play, Nebraska didn't do anything we didn't expect them to do but they executed at a higher level than we did -- he noted that Kelly Hunter had more kills than Haleigh Washington. He said their setter and libero outplayed our setter and libero.
So that's that.

This was one of the most painful matches I've watched. I'm with you, Nyline, we had no defense. I lost count of how many NEB kills hit the center of the Penn State floor.
