I saw a top#5 team in Penn State play in sets 1,4 and 5. Not sure who was playing in sets 2 and 3. This match does not compute. on paper, i don't think we'd ever see this happen. can't wait for an analysis by Talking Head. One of the TV guys thought OSU just got too emotional over pulling out set 3...but these kids have been playing for years in club and HS...5 sets. Their collapse is shocking...but fun... |

From what I saw in sets 2 and 3 we made a few mental errors and didn't seem to be in sync much of each of the sets. Looked like setting was off and also, we allowed that short server mess up our play instead of immediately adjusting to it. Seemed like we had no plan for it until 4th and 5th set. Huge Congrats to LEE for her 1K kill!! |

over set 4 and 5, 15 straight points for PSU. I know we've had runs in single sets, but never seen something suddenly so dominating...

I'm just happy we are winning the 5-setters. It's such a nice change from last year, where we kept losing the long matches.
Now we only need to worry about sweep losses.

PSU has set point. Their libero is better than ours and she digs almost everything. We don't have a single player that has a good serve. Why is that? Their libero is not better than ours. We had 7 aces. They had 3. |

Hey Folks.....as PO'd as I was for the middle of the match ;
#1 that was an unreal shift of gears that not many teams in the country possess.
#2 Another 5 game win!

I predict PSU in 5 sets, using the momentum of a big Set 4 win (at least 6 points or more). From the GO PSU Sports article on the match: "Ultimately, Penn State took a commanding win in the fourth set, 25-9, and sucked the mojo right out of the arena. Their gained momentum led to a dominant fifth set where the Nittany Lions jumped out to an 8-0 lead into the switch. I was extra grumpy last night because my Nats are doing exactly what they do in the postseason.
Why can't we always find that gear we had in Sets 1, 4 and 5?

We had 7 aces. They had 3. That doesn't make your case unless you can explain why we lost two consecutive sets with specifics. The Buckeyes have a 9-7 record. |
